Instead of training crossfit this weekend I participated in the Stockholm Halvmarathon. I have never run this distance before and just wanted to try it out :) I'm not a runner, I'm a crossfitter - so I wanted to find out my "running-shape" without any running training. So going into this run I really didn't know what to expect but this is how it went:
- The first 15km were easy.
- After those 15km the running got so much harder.
- The last 3km were just pure pain!
The problem wasn't my endurance ... my endurance was good the whole time ... my legs were the problem! I got cramps in my calves and my knees were killing me. I managed to keep on going though without stopping, and I finished in 1hour and 48minutes! My goal was to go under 1hour and 50minutes so I'm pretty satisfied :)
The atmosphere was amazing and I really enjoyed being apart of all this ... so I will most likely participate again next year .... and probably do some more running-training before it :)
But now I really have to focus on my crossfit training. Only 26 days until SM!!
